End user license agreement

FieldNook End User License Agreement

Effective date: September 4, 2026

This End User License Agreement is between you and Epicalin LLC, not Apple or Google. It governs the FieldNook mobile application. Epicalin LLC is the app provider and is solely responsible for FieldNook and its content, subject to applicable law and mandatory store terms.

1. Acknowledgement

You and Epicalin acknowledge that this agreement is between you and Epicalin. Apple and Google are not parties to it. The applicable store provider may impose additional mandatory terms.

2. License

Subject to this agreement and the applicable store usage rules, Epicalin grants you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, nonsublicensable, revocable license to install and use FieldNook on devices you own or control, including accounts or family groups permitted by the store. FieldNook is licensed, not sold.

3. Restrictions

You may not copy, distribute, rent, lease, sell, sublicense, bypass access controls, interfere with security, introduce malicious code, or reverse engineer FieldNook except where applicable law prohibits a restriction. You may not use FieldNook to violate law or another person's rights.

4. Your content

You retain rights in content you create. You are responsible for lawful capture, storage, backup, export, and sharing. Epicalin does not receive your local field card collection through ordinary app use.

5. Outdoor safety

FieldNook is recreational. It is not navigation, emergency support, safety advice, a route guide, species identification, medical advice, or authoritative environmental guidance. It does not verify location or outdoor activity. You remain responsible for decisions, surroundings, permissions, and compliance with local rules.

6. Purchases

Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through store settings. Eligible users may receive a seven day trial. Forever Almanac is a one time, nonconsumable purchase. The store displays authoritative localized prices, billing terms, taxes, trial eligibility, renewal, cancellation, refund, and family eligibility information. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

7. Privacy

The FieldNook Privacy Policy explains local content, device permissions, the random Installation ID, store transactions, support requests, diagnostics, website data, backups, retention, and privacy rights. The policy is available in the app and at https://fieldnook.epicalin.com/privacy/.

8. Maintenance and support

Epicalin, not Apple or Google, is responsible for maintenance and support required by applicable law. Contact support@epicalin.com or visit https://fieldnook.epicalin.com/support/. The support channel is not an emergency service.

9. Warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FieldNook is provided as is, as available, and with all faults. If an App Store distributed copy fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the app purchase price, if any, under its policies and applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

10. Product claims

Epicalin, not Apple or Google, is responsible for addressing claims relating to FieldNook, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer protection claims, to the extent required by applicable law.

11. Intellectual property claims

If a third party claims that FieldNook or your possession and use of it infringes intellectual property rights, Epicalin, not Apple or Google, is responsible for investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of the claim to the extent required by law.

12. Legal compliance

You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not listed on a United States Government prohibited or restricted party list. You must comply with applicable third party terms when using FieldNook.

13. Third party beneficiary

For an App Store distributed copy, Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of this agreement. Upon your acceptance, Apple may enforce this agreement against you as a third party beneficiary.

14. Liability

The warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability in the FieldNook Terms of Use apply to this license to the maximum extent permitted by law. They do not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.

15. Termination

This license ends if you materially breach it or if continued availability creates legal or security risk. You may end it by stopping use and uninstalling the app. Subscription cancellation must be completed separately through the store.

16. Complete agreement and contact

This agreement, the FieldNook Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, and mandatory store terms form the agreement governing FieldNook. Illinois law and the dispute terms in the Terms of Use apply subject to nonwaivable local rights. Questions may be sent to support@epicalin.com or to Epicalin LLC at the address above.
